What’s Good This Weekend

By December 9, 2016 No Comments

This weekend bundle up and get those creative juices flowing (with a little hooch too if that tickles your fancy). As the city gears up for the holidays we have plenty of ways for you to give back and get a little weird as the temperatures plunge. Stay warm out there, ATLiens!

Do you ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes at the Goat Farm? Do you need lovely, locally made holiday gifts? If so, double up on layers and waddle on over to the Goat Farm while you check out 50+ open artist spaces. Grab some unique presents and support local artists.

The Imaginary Million
Friday, 8pm – 11pm

Looking to blow off some work steam? Head to The Imaginary Million, an art auction meets music fiesta with plenty of dancing and cocktails to boot! WonderRoot is exhibiting 100 works by 100 different artists in this non-traditional fundraiser in which art is available to the public for purchase and to designated artists via a free silent auction. Head to this neat event to hobnob with Atlanta’s finest creatives.

Atlanta Santa Speedo Run
Saturday, 12pm – 6pm

It’s not every day that you get to wear next to nothing and run through the city. Suit up in your best holiday skivvies and make moves with your friends for CHRIS 180, one of Atlanta’s finest child and family service organizations. This festive fun run includes contests for the best dressed and some hefty prizes for top fundraisers. Why not “wear a little, give a lot” this weekend?

Feed the Homeless
Sunday, 2pm

Christmas dinner has come early for Hands Across Atlanta and you are invited. This event has it all: one huge potluck with haircuts and showers for the homeless set to Michael Jackson tunes. Bring a big ole dish to share, hygiene items, clothes and/or blankets to Renaissance Park and celebrate the season of giving with neighbors in need.
